Harrahs, Edgewater, Pioneer & Avi have smaller crowds but still have games going most of the time. The busiest rooms are ColoradoBelle, Riverside & Tropicana. The younger out of town players may find this to be a bad thing, but the games in Laughlin are friendlier and can still be a decent source for some extra income.
NoLimit Holdem is much harder to find compared to spread-limit & fixed limit cash games. The older local players still reamain the dominant force in Laughlin and the game selection reflects this. Laughlin poker also seems to still be quite healthy. IMO the total volume of poker players in LV is about the same as it has been over the last several years, but the players have tended to migrate to the bigger rooms. The main rooms in LV are doing very well but some of the smaller casinos w/ poker rooms of 12 tables or less are having a harder time keeping games going regularly.
it seems like Vegas poker rooms are still really busy. Regarding the poker boom easing up a bit, I'd say yes, but not alarmingly so.
